Today was the first series of individual sessions with CDAGS teachers. D3 facilitators Kim and Danny got a chance to meet one on one with teachers to better understand their goals and focus on how to incorporate design thinking into their classrooms and curriculum. We had a chance to observe live class sessions, answer questions, and assist in the planning stages of a variety of project types.
One of the classes that was observed was Ms. Hollis’s 3rd period health class as they embarked on one of their first design challenges. Tying into a class unit on self-esteem, the one hour project challenged students to create a self-esteem toolkit for a partner using the D3 methodology. Students interviewed each other, developed design ideas and sketches, and prototypes (check out some photos here!).
