Flexing D3 Muscle at C:/dags

The flexibility of the D3 process allows it to be used in many ways by educators across various contexts. This rang true today at C:/Dags as teachers continued to use D3 as a powerful planning and facilitation tool in their classrooms.  Mrs. Owens bravely began her next project in her 9th Grade Algebra class.  The challenge posed to students was to express a series of math concepts in creative ways using the D3 process, most of which was scaffolded over the course of a single class period.  Team role cards helped teams stay on task with specific responsibilities. The next class period will be devoted to the final stages of planning, execution, and final presentations.

Our after school planning session with teachers included project planning in coordination with Chemistry, Music, and History teachers. Next week, Mr. Abovian will begin a project with his world history class to create a graphic novel about the enlightenment!

It is one part idea lab, one part design and production facility, and one part "do tank."
